Alamogordo HARD: Rap Wrap

My favoritest of all time! Canyoneering at its best. This is an Advanced Hard outing. No trail, two challenging climbs and a bunch of boulder scrambles
From Alamo Canyon trailhead we divert over to Deadman to climb Rap Cut which has two challenging climbs. I find it interesting that some hikers feel the first climb is harder than the second, whereas, I think the second is more challenging.
After a two-minute break atop Rap we will continue up Rap Steppes which is one great moment after another. At the summit, another short break before starting the traverse back over to Deadman North for our descent which includes more scrambling over boulders

This is a fragrance free hike
You should probably bring more water than you think you will drink
If you need to be told what kind of clothing is appropriate, you should probably stay home along with your hiking poles which won’t do you any good boulder scrambling
Leave the dogs and children under 12 home
Expect to fall. It’s not an Alamogordo hike until somebody bleeds

Stay behind the leader or risk getting kicked off the hike. It’s a safety issue

If you have signed up and need to cancel, please do so early enough so that another hiker can take your place

By showing up at the trailhead you are promising to blame no one for anything
