Guadalupe Peak Day Hike

For my birthday this year I’d love to invite all of you to join me on a hike to the highest peak in Texas, Guadalupe Peak! Standing at 8,751 ft above sea level, this peak is part of the Guadalupe Mountain Range stretching from southeastern New Mexico to West Texas. Along the 8+ miles and 3000+ ft we will gain, you can expect a variety of changing landscapes and some snow this time of year. From the summit, you will be able to see views of El Capitan, Texas’s second highest peak, as well as miles of dessert stretching east and familiar peaks to the west. 8.4 miles out and back
~6-8 hours of hiking time total
$10 fee at the trailhead
Unfortunately no dogs allowed per National Park Service rules
**545 am Meet at Walmart 12236 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX, 79938
Comment below to figure out carpooling. I will be able to take 1-3 additional people.
**Hit the road by 6am
– From Walmart the drive is just under 2 hours
**Meet at Guadalupe Peak Trailhead (pine springs trailhead according to AllTrails) ~8am
**start hike by 830am once everyone is accounted for
**Park closes by 430pm
Day hiking backpack
winter gloves, hat and jacket/layers
Recommended 4 quarts of water per person (there are no water sources on the trail)
plastic bag for trash
first aid kit
Remember: two is one one is none, so if you bring something important it’s always good to have a back up!
